A single PDF
Two ways to split a PDF
Drop a PDF above and every page is rendered as a thumbnail with a tick on it. From there you have two options. Extract keeps only the pages you leave selected and downloads them as one new PDF — use Select none and then tick just the pages you want when you only need a handful. One file per page ignores the selection entirely and bursts the document apart, giving you a ZIP containing a separate single-page PDF for every page in the original.
When you would use each
Extract is the right choice when you are pulling a section out of something larger: the three pages of a lease that the bank actually asked for, one chapter of a scanned textbook, or the pages of a booklet that belong to a single form. Because you can also reorder and rotate before extracting, a crooked scan or an out-of-sequence bundle gets fixed in the same step. Bursting into one file per page is more useful for batch work — uploading pages one at a time to a portal that only accepts single-page documents, or splitting a merged batch of invoices back into individual files.
Nothing is uploaded
Splitting happens in your browser. The PDF is read into memory, the pages you chose are copied into a new document, and the result is handed to your downloads folder — no server ever sees the file. That matters here in particular, because the documents people split tend to be the sensitive ones: statements, agreements, certificates and ID scans. No account is needed and nothing is watermarked.
Frequently asked questions
How do I extract just a few pages from a PDF?+
Add your file, press "Select none", then tick only the pages you want to keep and press Extract. Those pages are saved as a single new PDF, in the order shown on screen.
What is the difference between Extract and "One file per page"?+
Extract produces one PDF containing the pages you selected. "One file per page" ignores your selection and splits every page of the document into its own single-page PDF, delivered together in a ZIP file.
Can I reorder or rotate pages while splitting?+
Yes. Drag the thumbnails to change their order and use the rotate control on any page that is sideways. The extracted PDF uses the order and rotation you see in the grid.
Does the original PDF change?+
Never. The tool only reads your file and writes a new one. The original stays exactly as it is on your device.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?+
No. The split runs entirely in your browser, so the PDF never leaves your device and we never receive a copy of it.
